I was in the building where and when the woman was shot. I want to give some background of what led up to the event and some additional detail immediately after the shooting that I was only one of only a handful to witnesses and don't know if anyone else connected the dots.

Supporters of President Donald Trump have breached the protective barricade around the US Capitol as the joint session of Congress convened to count electoral votes that would officially make Democrat Joe Biden the next president.

I have a rescue cat who has been my constant companion since 2011. She is a lovely lass who has lived in lockdown for most of her life. Not because I am being cruel, but because she needs protecting. My girl is 13 years old. In Cat years that is nearly 100 years old. .
I am sitting here, having just watched the Trump Rally in Georgia and she has lain at my feet throughout the entire event. I keep giving her a rub with my feet and a gentle acknowledgment of love so that she remains strong through the reassurance of my love for her. The one thing that is staggering is that she has not bitten my toes once. I am wound free. I am without recent blemish on my toes and torso so today, thus far, has been a good day.
But I did look down fondly and smile at her aging body and consider that she now looks like an old cuddle rug that has been too well loved and too adored for one who is barely 13 years old.
Have a look at the graphic below and ask yourself: are you in an abusive relationship with your Government?
If you are like me, I decided that I answered " yes " too many times and I want a divorce.
Conservatives mocked a Democratic representative’s Sunday prayer opening the 117th Congress that concluded with “amen and awoman.”
“We ask it in the name of the monotheistic God, [unintelligible], and God known by many names and by many different faiths, amen, and awoman,” Democratic Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, an ordained United Methodist pastor, said during the prayer to open the 117th Congress.

Well the New Year arrived and we were given the oh so exciting news that our tried and true Anthem had been changed. The next step will be removed totally , like they are trying to do with the flag. They changed all the words of the Lord's Prayer. They are changing the meaning of many of our words. Gay, Rainbow, words like Her and Him to They.
Colonial Australians voted for Federation for four key reasons – Defence, Foreign Affairs, Quarantine and the maintenance of Free Trade between States.
Our Federation is failing in all four areas.
If I was American.... I would be going to Washington DC on 6th of January.
If I was American, I would walk to Washington to be there to support President Trump.
If I was American, I would sleep on the side of the road and do anything within my power to be there to support President Trump.
Apparently, Australia is no longer young and free but one and free. This is just another brick in the wall and we must stop and consider the ramifications of this seemingly benign " little tweak. "
We saw it happen with the "voluntary opinion poll " on Same Sex Marriage. It will happen again with our anthem. The minute you give an inch to the vocal minority, they will DEMAND a mile. That is how it works.
I am not happy that this decision was made by Prime Minister Morrison as though it was no big deal. It IS a big deal and it is not and was not HIS decision to make on behalf of 25 million Australians.

As 2020 draws to a close, I tried to come up with something that would reflect on what a year it has been.
I think we all know it has been a shit of a year. No one needs to be walked through the nightmare that we have endured since the clock ticked over to midnight nearly one year ago and announced with great celebration that it was 2020. To say it was SOSO would be kind.
